I didn't design it, I wish I had though :o) I bought the quilt pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop and only used 4 of the applique panels to keep it down to the right size. I think it's nice to remove the chemicals and make sure it's not going to run or shrink etc, but like you said, if it's good quality then I don't think it makes much difference. As for the slackness, that's ok, I haven't been out and about all that much lately either, I've become a bit of a recluse lately and only really leave the house to buy food and fabric.
